There are too many people with toothaches around them. They are often sick at home, unable to work or live normally. Some toothaches are severe and painful, and we must try to relieve the pain as soon as possible. After the pain is relieved, we need to tell what is the cause of the toothache and what types of it are, so that we can prescribe the right medicine and treat it. There are two broad categories of toothache: primary toothache and concurrent toothache. Primary toothache refers to the direct cause of the teeth and gums themselves, mainly toothache caused by some oral diseases. 1. Toothache caused by tooth decay: commonly known as pulpitis or periapical periodontitis. The manifestation of this kind of toothache: the tooth has already formed tooth decay, especially it is particularly sensitive to the stimulation of sugar, milk food, cold, heat and other substances, So when it strikes, it’s a bone-piercing pain that’s usually not accompanied by a gingival reaction. This kind of toothache is generally more painful at night than during the day, and it is more painful when lying down than sitting. 2. Toothache caused by periodontitis: patients with periodontitis do not necessarily have toothache, but are caused when the gums recede, so patients Most of them are middle-aged and elderly people, and the range of tooth pain is not the same. Some people only have pain in one tooth or two or three adjacent teeth. Some people have upper and lower gums, and a wide range of teeth will hurt. The reason for this phenomenon is that the pain of periodontitis is not caused by the tooth itself, but is caused by an anaerobic bacteria in the oral cavity that causes the internal gums – that is, the periodontal tissue is congested and inflamed, which stimulates the nerves of the teeth. The pain (especially soreness) caused by the bite will directly aggravate the pain. In addition, this kind of toothache will not show the phenomenon of red and swollen gums. Acute onset, also known as acute gingivitis, commonly known as “wind and fire toothache”. The gums are seriously swollen, and the main pain point is the gums. It is very painful if you touch it a little. Not to mention chewing food, even opening your mouth will feel pain, which is more uncomfortable than a real toothache. In severe cases, symptoms such as sore throat, swollen lymph glands, fever, poor stools or constipation may occur. The tongue coating is thick, dry or yellow, and the tongue is bright red. From these series of symptoms, it can be seen that the acute inflammation of the gums is caused by the lesions of the body (commonly known as “fire”). Complicated toothache is mainly caused by some diseases of the whole body, of course, there are also some caused by psychological factors, which need special attention.
