There are 2 types of dentures:
1. Removable dentures (movable teeth): Removable dentures use the remaining natural teeth or mucous membranes as support, and are fixed on the remaining natural teeth through a snap ring. A type of restoration that can be used for missing a single tooth, multiple teeth, or the entire mouth. Now the bases of living teeth have plastic and metal steel brackets, and the teeth of the row are plastic teeth.
2. Fixed dentures (fixed teeth): Fixed dentures include metal-porcelain teeth, metal-steel teeth, and dental implants, which are all widely used and popular restorations for missing teeth. Metal steel teeth are full crowns cast with alloy materials, which cover all the crowns, tightly protect the crowns, have high hardness and good retention. Because the metal color is inconsistent with the teeth, it is not suitable for anterior teeth restoration, but suitable for posterior teeth restoration. The most widely used is metal-porcelain teeth, which are suitable for anterior teeth and posterior teeth, and can be used for single crown and fixed bridge restorations. The advantages of porcelain teeth are: high strength, can restore shape and function, good wear resistance, beautiful and realistic color, smooth surface, no deformation, no discoloration, so it is widely used now.
