The entrance ceremony of Tokyo University of Science, which was established by the merger of Tokyo Institute of Technology and Tokyo Medical and Dental University last fall, was held at the Ookayama campus in Meguro-ku, Tokyo on the 2nd. A total of 1,471 new students (1,186 in science and engineering, 285 in medicine and dentistry) opened a new chapter in their lives.
Doi Ryo (19), a student of the medical school who attended the entrance ceremony, said, “I want to do research that combines medicine and informatics. I also look forward to interacting with students in the science and engineering fields.” Toda Saki (18), a student of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Technologies (equivalent to undergraduates), said, “I want to study the preservation technology of iPS cells. I want to develop medical technology to save humanity.”
