The Japan Society of Orthodontics is a group of practitioners in the three professional fields of “orthodontics”, “endodontics” and “periodontics”. Its purpose is to conduct research and education, provide treatment to chew with your own teeth forever without tooth extraction, and maintain, preserve and keep precious teeth functioning normally in the mouth.
The Department of Oral Preservation Therapy is a discipline specializing in “tooth preservation”, that is, treating caries, tooth fractures, tooth discoloration, and diseases of the dental pulp (dental nerve) and apical periodontal tissue (root tip and surrounding bone, etc.). In order to maintain healthy overall health throughout life (from young to old), it is necessary to maintain the function of teeth for a long time. This department contributes to “tooth preservation” by promoting and developing specialized undergraduate and graduate dental education, as well as clinical and research using the latest equipment and technology, thereby contributing to the health of local communities and society as a whole, as well as Japan and overseas.

With the theme of “making dentistry the most enjoyable thing in the world”, we practice various ideas in clinical, research, education, etc.
Comments from Professor Tomoaki Kitamura: I hope to promote the development of the industry by providing researchers with more opportunities than ever before to present their academic achievements in research, education, and clinical practice. We also hope to promote active exchanges with affiliated academic organizations overseas. In addition, last year, conventional dental specialists were certified as specialists who can conduct advertising, so we intend to implement this system properly and make it a stable system.
