Two youths, ages 16 and 17, were arrested for punching and kicking a man in Redwood City, breaking some of the victim’s teeth, police said.
Police received a call just after 7 p.m. Friday about two masked men beating and kicking people at Cedar and Stambaugh streets.
The suspects fled in a white pickup truck, but witnesses remembered the vehicle’s license plate number.
Meanwhile, the victim was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries, including a broken tooth.
Police issued a “look-out” alert, or “BOLO,” to law enforcement agencies. By 7:10 p.m., the white truck was spotted by a surveillance camera on Crestview Boulevard in San Carlos, police said.
San Mateo County sheriff’s deputies soon spotted the truck and detained the two suspects, ages 16 and 17, from Redwood City.
The teens were transferred to the county’s Youth Services Center on suspicion of felony assault, according to Redwood City police.
