Egyptian wrestler Ashraf Mahrous recently broke three Guinness World Records by pulling a 279-ton train 10 meters forward on a train track in Cairo with his teeth.
Egyptian media “Egyptian Streets” reported that Ashraf Mahrous, a well-known Egyptian wrestler nicknamed “Kabonga”, won three Guinness World Records on the 13th – the strongest teeth pull on the heaviest track, the fastest record for pulling a train 100 meters.
On the 13th, Marous stood on the rails of Ramses train station in downtown Cairo, and amid the expectant eyes and cheers of the crowd, he bit a thick rope with his teeth and pulled a train weighing 279 tons forward 10 meters.
Marous said that he first pulled a 2-ton locomotive in 40 seconds to warm up.
Marous, who is now in his 40s and is the president of the Egyptian Federation for Professional Wrestlers, has made a name for himself by using his extraordinary personal strength to pull vehicles.
Other notable feats of Marrus include crushing and swallowing 11 raw eggs in 30 seconds in June 2024. In June 2022, he pulled six MRT carriages with a total weight of 15.73 tons with his teeth, breaking the previous record of 13-ton truck pulling created by an Indian.
Dawlet Elnakeb, the organizer of the event, said that Marrus only received 20 days of training before the performance, and his strength is simply “superhuman”. Marrus’s name is fully deserved in the “Guinness Book of Records”, which specializes in recording extraordinary and unconventional achievements.
