Keelung City Government and Keelung Dentists Association jointly held the “114th Kindergarten Parent-Child Teeth Cleaning Observation Carnival” at the National Ocean University this weekend to protect the dental health of young children. The event aims to strengthen the attention of schools and parents to the oral health of young children. This year, preschool children were the promotion targets, and about 300 parents and children participated enthusiastically.
The kindergarten parent-child teeth cleaning observation carnival combines kindergarten teachers, children and parents to participate together. It is open to 40 groups, 90 parent-child groups and 10 special needs groups. The event is accompanied by the music of “Happy Teeth Cleaning, Happy Teeth Cleaning” for competition. There was also a “fluoride” challenge activity set up by the Dental Association, a preschool special education welfare and service consultation at the Special Education Resource Center, a board game at the Early Childhood Reporting and Referral and Personal Management Center, and a photo-taking area at the Anxin Kindergarten. It was an entertaining and educational event.
Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang said that the kindergarten parent-child teeth cleaning carnival is not only a grand event to pay attention to children’s oral health, but also an opportunity for parents and kindergartens to work together. It is hoped that through the activities, children will develop good oral health habits from an early age, and pass on the correct teeth cleaning methods and knowledge of tooth decay prevention to parents.
