Manx Care has assured NHS patients in Ramsey that it is actively working to secure alternative dental provisions following the announcement that Grove Mount Dental Practice will no longer be providing NHS services after 31 March. While the practice will continue to treat private patients, NHS patients will need to transition to a new provider.
A spokeswoman from Manx Care acknowledged that this news may cause uncertainty for patients but emphasized that both the dental practice and Manx Care are working closely to ensure a smooth transition for those affected. The healthcare provider is focused on minimizing disruption to patients’ dental care.
NHS dental care contracts, which include performance targets for procedures over a set period, are awarded to various independent practices across the Isle of Man. In light of this change, Manx Care has asked affected patients not to take any action at this time. They will still be able to receive NHS dental services until the end of March.
Manx Care reassured patients that they will be informed of alternative arrangements for their dental care after 1 April. Patients with any concerns or questions are encouraged to contact the Manx Care Advice and Liaison Service team via phone or email for further assistance.
It’s worth noting that Manx Care also assumed the management of a dental surgery in Douglas in October 2023, following the decision to hand back its NHS contract.
