Luca Bish, the 25-year-old fishmonger from Brighton, made a memorable entrance into the Love Island villa two years ago, and this January, he made a triumphant return for the All Stars season. This time, Luca arrived in South Africa with hopes of finding a long-lasting relationship, while also capturing the attention of viewers with his undeniably captivating smile.
Known for his strikingly white teeth, Luca’s dazzling grin quickly became a topic of conversation among fans, who began asking, “What has Luca had done to his teeth?” It turns out, Luca has been quite open about the cosmetic procedures he underwent to achieve his perfect smile.
Before rising to fame on Love Island, Luca visited the Dental Centre in Turkey, where he had 20 of his teeth replaced. Reflecting on the decision, he described the experience as “one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” sharing details in a YouTube video chronicling his dental transformation.
Luca’s treatment involved replacing the top 10 of his teeth with crowns, while the remaining 10 on the bottom were fitted with laminate veneers. Veneers are designed to improve the shape and color of the teeth by covering the front surface, while crowns fully encase the tooth. The result? A flawless, bright smile that has earned Luca widespread admiration.
However, as stunning as Luca’s smile is, maintaining its brilliance requires effort. We consulted leading hygienist Anna Middleton, founder of London Hygienist, for her expert advice. Anna explained that when opting for veneers or crowns, patients can select any shade, often choosing a whiter hue than their natural teeth. “If someone has had their teeth whitened and it’s an unnatural shade, it can look very obvious,” Anna added.
To keep his pearly whites in top condition, Luca will need to take care of his veneers. While they can stain over time, proper maintenance through regular cleaning and dental visits can help preserve their appearance. However, since veneers and crowns cannot be whitened, keeping them in pristine condition will depend on good oral hygiene.
Dr. Sahil Patel, founder of the Marylebone Smile Clinic, also weighed in on Luca’s dental choices. He confirmed that veneers typically last 10 to 15 years, meaning Luca may need to have them redone in the future as part of routine care.
In addition to his cosmetic upgrades, Luca’s Love Island journey has been filled with drama and romance. During his first season, he coupled up with Gemma Owen, and the pair made it to the final. This time around, Luca has mostly been seen with Grace Jackson, a contestant from the 2024 season, though their budding relationship faces challenges with the entrance of Samie Elishi, who shares a history with Luca.
As Luca continues his quest for love and maintains his impeccable smile, one thing is clear: his smile isn’t the only thing turning heads in the villa.
