Crystal Dental Clinic, a leading force in Romania’s dental market for over two decades, has announced a remarkable 60% increase in turnover, reaching 4.3 million euros in 2024. This impressive growth is driven by enhanced patient loyalty, a surge in new patients, and the ability to attract complex dental cases in a highly competitive and fragmented market. With this success, Crystal Dental Clinic has solidified its position as one of Romania’s largest dental providers and is now preparing to open two additional clinics, including Europe’s first deep sedation facility and a dedicated children’s clinic. The clinic also projects a further 20% growth in 2025.
“We’ve consistently grown year over year, but 2024 marked a major leap for our two clinics, which served 45,000 patients. This success is the result of our long-term investments in doctor performance, advanced technology, and exceptional patient care, all of which have fostered patient loyalty and driven new referrals,” said Cătălin Panciu, CEO of Crystal Dental Clinic. He added that patient retention played a critical role in attracting 60% more new patients, with the introduction of corporate subscriptions in the middle of 2023 contributing to the increase.
Key areas fueling this growth include orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, dental surgery, complex dental rehabilitation, aesthetics, and preventive care. The demand for second opinions has also surged, as more Romanians seek informed guidance for complex, high-cost dental situations.
Romania’s dental market, though fragmented and fiercely competitive, continues to thrive as public awareness of dental health increases. Crystal Dental Clinic’s use of advanced technologies has been a key driver of its success, offering faster, more accurate, and virtually painless treatments. The clinic’s state-of-the-art tools include 3D scanning, CEREC CAD-CAM technology for crowns created in hours, and laser therapies for gum diseases, all of which contribute to a superior patient experience and quicker recovery times.
“We’re seeing firsthand how technology accelerates our business growth. Investments in modern equipment allow us to offer effective, cutting-edge treatments that attract new patients while ensuring the satisfaction of those who return for follow-up care. These technological advancements, like discreet orthodontic options and remote treatment monitoring, differentiate us in the market and support patient loyalty,” said Dr. Sorina Blaj, medical coordinator and founder of Crystal Dental Clinic.
Despite growing interest in dental care, the clinic is facing an alarming trend: many patients are presenting with advanced dental issues, requiring expensive and intricate treatments. Among the most common conditions are untreated cavities leading to abscesses, periodontal disease, and tooth loss. In severe cases, untreated dental issues result in jawbone infections.
As part of its mission to improve public awareness, Crystal Dental Clinic has supported dental education programs in schools and kindergartens, aiming to instill good oral hygiene habits from a young age.
Looking ahead, Crystal Dental Clinic is set to expand even further in 2025, with projections of an additional 20% growth, fueled by the growing demand for preventive and aesthetic treatments. The clinic will also launch Europe’s first deep sedation dental facility, a response to the increasing demand for dental procedures performed under sedation for both children and adults. The clinic’s deep sedation services have seen a twofold increase in the past two years, and this new clinic will not only cater to local patients but also offer specialized services to other dental offices across Romania.
Founded in 2003, Crystal Dental Clinic has grown into one of Romania’s largest dental networks, with two clinics in Bucharest and a team of over 40 specialists. To date, the clinic has treated more than 45,000 patients, leveraging the latest technology and innovative methods to address even the most complex dental challenges.
