Swope Health unveiled its new dental clinic in Belton on Wednesday, responding to local demand for accessible dental services. The clinic, though part of the established Swope Health network, brings dental care directly to the community for the first time, offering four fully equipped exam rooms.
“We’ve heard from our patients in Belton that they want to access dental care where they already receive their primary care,” said Swope Health President and CEO Jaron Ravin. “Our goal is to provide a one-stop-shop for patients, making it easier for them to get the care they need under one roof.”
The clinic’s establishment comes after the realization that many patients face transportation challenges in accessing dental care. By integrating dental and medical services in the same location, Swope Health aims to streamline appointments, allowing patients to see both their primary care physician and dentist in one visit. “We want to eliminate the need for multiple appointments at different locations,” Ravin added.
The new facility addresses the growing need for comprehensive healthcare access, and Swope Health executives emphasized the importance of bridging gaps in healthcare delivery. Executive Vice President of Dental Megan Krohn noted that oral health can offer insights into a patient’s broader health conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease. “Oral health can significantly impact conditions like glycemic control and cardiac health, making it an essential part of overall wellness,” Krohn explained.
In line with its mission to improve healthcare access, Swope Health remains committed to offering affordable dental services to all patients, regardless of their insurance or financial situation. Krohn emphasized the clinic’s role in breaking down the barriers that often prevent people from seeking care. “Access to quality care is crucial for good health, and our goal is to ensure that all patients, no matter their ability to pay or their insurance, can receive the services they need,” she said.
Swope Health’s continued efforts to integrate dental and medical services reflect its ongoing dedication to serving the community and meeting the evolving healthcare needs of Belton residents.
