Dr. Jonathan VanDenburgh, a dedicated dentist with a passion for making dental care accessible, is set to open his own practice in Mattawan, Michigan. Located at 54600 City Center Circle, the new dental office will fill a crucial gap in the village of 2,000, which currently lacks a nearby dental provider.
VanDenburgh, who has spent the last six years working at Drake Dental in Kalamazoo, is driven by the need for affordable dental care in Mattawan. The village, situated southwest of Kalamazoo, does not have any local dental services, a situation that VanDenburgh is determined to change.
With plans to open Mattawan Family Dentistry in late July or early August, just a few blocks from Mattawan High School, VanDenburgh hopes to provide essential dental services for the community. The new practice will offer a wide range of treatments, including routine cleanings, fillings, crowns, implants, dentures, partials, Invisalign, veneers, and teeth whitening.
One of VanDenburgh’s key goals is to make dental care more affordable. He aims to reduce costs by performing lab work and utilizing digital dentistry technology in-house. “The hardest thing for me in dentistry is charging people money,” VanDenburgh shared. “One of the main focuses we are focusing on is to be able to offer quality dentistry, but a little more affordably. There are a lot of people whose biggest hurdle to dentistry is being able to afford it. I want to be able to help people with that.”
After graduating from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, VanDenburgh has gained extensive experience practicing in California, Ohio, and Michigan. Now, with his new 3,500 square-foot facility, which will feature eight operatories, he is poised to serve the Mattawan community. He plans to begin hiring staff closer to the practice’s opening date.
Ryan Gillespie, VanDenburgh’s real estate broker, highlighted the significance of the new practice, stating, “This will be a very helpful service for those in the Mattawan area who need a nearby dental office to take their kids to. It’s also a big positive for an area that has struggled with real estate developers to invest in.”
With the opening of Mattawan Family Dentistry, VanDenburgh is not only aiming to provide high-quality dental care but also to create a vital resource for families in the area.
