The Y-Brush electric toothbrush offers an innovative solution for those looking to streamline their oral hygiene routine. Designed to clean all teeth simultaneously, the Y-Brush can complete the task in just 20 seconds—10 seconds for the top row and 10 seconds for the bottom. Available in two versions, one with a handpiece and the other as a compatible head for the Philips Sonicare, the Y-Brush is designed to save time while ensuring a thorough clean.
Many people struggle to brush their teeth for the recommended duration. Studies indicate that most individuals fail to meet the suggested brushing time, which is typically three minutes with a manual brush and two minutes with an electric one. Y-Brush, however, claims to deliver the same results in just a fraction of the time.
The Y-Brush features a brush head resembling a bite splint, which covers the entire set of teeth, brushing them all at once. This design eliminates the need for users to worry about missing spots or uneven cleaning. To use, simply place the brush in the mouth, bite down lightly, and move it from side to side. The device hums at a high frequency, similar to a sonic toothbrush, providing efficient cleaning. According to a clinical study with 100 participants over a 30-day period, the Y-Brush proved to be twice as effective as conventional electric toothbrushes.
Two Models: Ultra and Essential
At CES 2025, Y-Brush introduced two new models: the Y-Brush Ultra and Y-Brush Essential. The Y-Brush Ultra, the more advanced model, offers six brushing modes, including a whitening option, and lasts up to six months on a single charge. The sleek black handpiece of the Ultra resembles traditional electric toothbrushes from brands like Oral-B and Philips, and it is compatible with standard brush heads.
In contrast, the Y-Brush Essential offers a more basic experience, with only two brushing modes and a handpiece shaped like a trapezoidal bar of soap. Despite the unconventional shape, the design is practical—since the brush doesn’t need to be moved, it simply stays in place in the mouth. The Y-Brush Essential lasts three months per charge.
Both models feature the Y-shaped Clean240 brush head with 35,000 nylon bristles that use sonic vibration for effective cleaning. Available in two sizes, M (for ages 13 and up) and S (for children ages 4–12), the brush heads are designed to suit various needs. An additional version is also available for the Philips Sonicare range, though it’s limited to the M size for adults.
Pricing and Availability
Both the Y-Brush Ultra and Y-Brush Essential will be available on Amazon starting in March. The Y-Brush Ultra will retail for €129.99, while the Essential model will be priced at €84.99. Replacement brush heads are sold separately, with traditional heads priced at €14.99 for a pack of three, and the Y-shaped Clean240 heads costing €34.90.
