A two-year-old boy’s calm response to a painful fall that knocked out his baby tooth has captured hearts worldwide. Pauly Long, 32, a content creator living in Bali, Indonesia, shared a video on TikTok after his son, King, tripped and hit his mouth on a chair, which resulted in the baby tooth being entirely dislodged from the root.
In a clip posted to his TikTok account, @paulylong, Long documented the aftermath of the October 11 incident, showing King casually munching on ice cubes just minutes after the fall. Although the family initially panicked at the sight of blood, Long told Newsweek that within 10 minutes, King was calm and “sitting on the ground eating ice cubes like nothing happened.”
“Super tough kid,” Long said, adding that King’s relaxed demeanor made him laugh, prompting him to capture the moment for his followers. The video, which has garnered over 11.7 million views and nearly 800,000 likes, shows King’s tooth in Long’s hand and the wooden chair marked by the impact. King then beams for the camera, revealing the new gap in his smile.
With a humorous tone, Long joked, “So that’s what you’re going to look like now for the next five years—amazing,” and added a playful caption: “Like why.”
Children typically begin losing their baby teeth around age six, starting with the lower front teeth, followed by the top front teeth, according to the Mayo Clinic. King’s unexpected tooth loss prompted curious TikTok viewers to question whether the tooth, with its surprisingly long root, might have been an adult tooth. Other parents shared their own stories of toddler tumbles, while some suggested trying to reinsert the tooth. However, the family’s doctor reassured them that King is healthy, though he’ll remain toothless until his permanent teeth grow in.
Long expressed amazement at the video’s popularity, noting that while he’s accustomed to viral content, he was surprised by the level of engagement on this post. Even negative comments, which he dismissed as “uneducated opinions,” didn’t bother him.
Reflecting on the experience, Long said he’s simply grateful for King’s resilience. “He’s an awesome kid, and it amazes me how quickly he bounces back from that sort of injury.”
