Three dentists from Cornerstone Family Dentistry in Stillwater are stepping up to support their community by offering free dental services. Dr. Clint Metcalf, Dr. Christopher Leslie, and Dr. Jerame Littell will host their inaugural “Cornerstone Cares Day” on Saturday, providing complimentary dental exams, X-rays, fillings, and tooth extractions. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at their clinic, located at 1325 S. Sangre Rd., with care being administered on a first-come, first-served basis. Services are limited to adults 18 and older.
Dr. Christopher Leslie, co-owner of Cornerstone Family Dentistry, acknowledged that they can only serve a limited number of patients but assured that the team will work diligently to assist as many people as possible. “Our staff is donating their time, expertise, and resources for this initiative, so we ask for patience from those hoping to be seen,” Leslie told the News Press.
Local businesses are also lending their support. Interworks, a nearby company, has offered additional parking to accommodate the expected crowds. Leslie emphasized that preparations have been made to ensure patients are comfortable while they wait, recommending that attendees bring blankets, snacks, and water.
Leslie explained that patient needs will vary, and each case will be handled thoroughly. “We’ll work as efficiently as possible, but the time required for each patient will depend on the complexity of their needs,” he said.
The inspiration for “Cornerstone Cares Day” stemmed from a discussion about the clinic’s core values. “Compassion and commitment are fundamental to our practice,” Leslie said. “We know there are individuals in our community who struggle to access quality dental care due to financial barriers or lack of insurance, and we want to help bridge that gap. This event reflects our dedication to this community and our desire to provide compassionate care.”
Leslie acknowledged the growing need for affordable dental services in the area. “Financial constraints are often a major reason people avoid seeking dental care,” he noted. “Through this event, we hope to improve access to quality healthcare for those who need it most.”
The response to the event has been overwhelming, with over 45,000 people expressing interest via Facebook. Cornerstone Family Dentistry has partnered with local organizations, churches, nonprofits, and other dental professionals to spread the word. “We’re grateful to everyone who has helped promote this initiative, including Our Daily Bread and other local groups,” Leslie said. “While it’s difficult to predict exactly how many people will attend, we are as prepared as possible to meet the demand.”
The team is optimistic that “Cornerstone Cares Day” will not only provide essential dental services but also foster a sense of community care and solidarity in Stillwater.
