In celebration of National Dental Hygiene Month this October, America’s ToothFairy is calling on dental professionals nationwide to join its third annual My Smile Matters campaign. Launched in 2022, the campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of oral health for overall well-being, while highlighting the critical role dental hygienists play in promoting children’s health and lifelong success.
“Many parents still view tooth decay as an inevitable part of childhood,” said Jill Malmgren, executive director of America’s ToothFairy. “Through this campaign, we’re working to change that mindset by educating families on the powerful connection between a healthy smile, physical health, and long-term success.”
The campaign’s impact has expanded significantly, reaching over 100,000 people in 2022 and nearly 170,000 in 2023 through educational materials available at MySmileMatters Sponsored by Darby Dental Supply, the 2024 edition of the campaign includes a series of interactive activities designed to further spread the message of dental hygiene and oral care.
“This year’s campaign is one of our most ambitious yet,” Malmgren added. “We’re excited to see dental professionals and educators across the country already engaging with the campaign by downloading resources and preparing for the official launch on October 1st. We will continue to roll out new materials throughout the month to maximize outreach.”
