Dr Shaadi Manouchehri, a dentist who regularly shares advice on TikTok, says there are three things she does every day that “significantly improve her life and her teeth“.
The dentist, who has nearly a decade of experience, claims that these simple tasks have helped her achieve a healthier and brighter smile.
In a recent video, she explained how her three daily tasks are so simple that she can do them every day.
She said: “The first thing I do when I wake up is brush my teeth and then have breakfast. If you do it the other way round, it can damage your teeth and gums.
“You are also more likely to get cavities because the bacteria in your mouth multiplies overnight and if you eat straight away it can be really damaging. So you need to brush beforehand to protect your teeth from decay”.
The second thing she does is use a tongue scraper every morning and evening. Dr Manouchehri says it has to be copper. Copper tongue scrapers are resistant to corrosion and can last a long time if cleaned regularly.
The metal is also an antimicrobial surface that helps kill bacteria and viruses, which in serious cases can lead to problems such as tooth decay and gum infections.
She added: “This has meant that not only do I no longer have bad breath, but my overall oral health and hygiene has improved. I can also taste things a bit better”.
Thirdly, she uses mouthwash at a specific time of day. “I have stopped using mouthwash after brushing my teeth and will use it before brushing my teeth,” she said.
“This is to make sure that the bacteria and debris in the mouth are removed and then you go in with your brush and floss to make sure that most of the things are removed.
