Srinagar’s health authorities have shut down an unregistered dental clinic and illegal hair transplantation center in Chattabal, Srinagar, following directives from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Dr. Shafkat, Zonal Medical Officer for S R Gunj, confirmed that “The Med World,” a dental clinic operating without the necessary registration, has been sealed. The clinic’s owner had applied for registration in 2022 but had yet to receive approval, leading to its illegal operation. Notably, the clinic was also performing hair transplant and IVF procedures, which are outside the scope of dental practice.
Dr. Shafkat emphasized the Health Department’s commitment to enforcing regulations for private clinics. “We have been instructed by Secretary Health Syed Abid Rashid Shah to take stringent action against clinics lacking proper registration,” he stated.
The clinic will remain closed until further notice.
