Missouri Ozarks Community Health has announced the appointment of Dr. Adam Weaver as its new Dental Director. Dr. Weaver, who assumed the role in August, will be based at the Ava clinic, where he will offer both preventive and restorative dental services. Additionally, he will extend his expertise in oral surgery, including wisdom tooth extractions, across the Missouri Ozarks Community Health network, including the Houston clinic.
Jennifer Heinlein, Chief Operations Officer at Missouri Ozarks Community Health, expressed enthusiasm about Dr. Weaver’s addition to the team. “We are excited to welcome Dr. Weaver and his extensive experience. Access to dental care can be challenging in rural areas, and his presence will help us meet a significant need in the six communities we serve.”
Dr. Weaver brings over ten years of experience from federally qualified health centers and expressed his eagerness to join the organization. “Finding an organization with a commitment to treating every patient with the same respect and care I would offer my own family is rare,” Dr. Weaver noted.
He holds an undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Texas A&M College of Dentistry. Dr. Weaver takes over from Dr. Sybil Fortner, who has served as Dental Director since 2007 and will now focus on patient care aboard the MOCH Dental Bus.
Tim Shryack, CEO of Missouri Ozarks, praised Dr. Fortner’s contributions, stating, “Dr. Fortner has dedicated 17 years to developing our dental program, ensuring all patients receive respectful and dignified care. Her new role on the dental bus will continue her mission of providing comprehensive care to children in remote areas.”
Dr. Weaver will be available for appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. He accepts a range of insurance options, including Medicaid, sliding fee, and full pay. To schedule an appointment at the Ava clinic, call 417-683-5739.
