The Clinton County Healthy Communities Dental Clinic, located on Hogan Boulevard, is leveraging a $6,000 grant from the Clinton County Community Foundation to bolster its outreach programs. The funding supports initiatives aimed at educating young children about dental hygiene, a critical aspect of preventive care.
Shelby Rice, RDH, PHDHP, from the clinic, has been actively conducting presentations and dental screenings at local daycares and elementary schools. Recent events included a public session at Robb Elementary and a collaboration with the Kiwanis Club. Additionally, the clinic will offer free dental services to senior citizens during an oral health fair at its Hogan Boulevard location on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as noted by April Hall, a public health dental hygiene practitioner.
On Friday, Sept. 27, the clinic will also provide free oral health screenings at the senior citizen EXPO held at the Clinton County Community Center-STEP Inc., 124 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Founded to address the scarcity of affordable dental care in rural areas, the clinic is dedicated to serving those without dental insurance. Residents of Clinton County interested in evaluating their eligibility are encouraged to visit.
For those wishing to contribute or honor someone through a donation, the Clinton County Community Foundation can be contacted at 570-220-1038, via email at [email protected], or through their website at www.clintoncountyfoundation.org.
