In a dental appointment that quickly went viral, Jo Danvers, 27, received an unexpected and unsettling experience when her hygienist used the opportunity to share a series of outlandish political conspiracy theories. The story, which has captivated nearly 4.5 million viewers online, has prompted an official apology from the dental clinic.
Danvers, a resident of Oregon, detailed her bizarre experience in an online post that has since garnered widespread attention. In her email to the clinic, Danvers recounted how the hygienist, while working on her teeth, began discussing various conspiracy theories as if they were facts.
The hygienist allegedly asserted that President Biden had died in 2020 and that JFK Jr. was alive and serving as the true vice president. Additionally, she claimed that Princess Diana, John Lennon, Tupac Shakur, Elvis Presley, and Marilyn Monroe were all still alive.
Danvers described the situation as “crazy” and expressed her discomfort in the vulnerable position she was in while the hygienist made these claims. According to Danvers, the hygienist urged her to “wake up” when Danvers expressed her ignorance about these theories, and even insisted she share what she had learned.
Following the incident, Danvers received a call from her dentist, who offered an apology for the hygienist’s conduct and explained that the staff member had been with the clinic only temporarily. In an official response, the dental office clarified that the conspiratorial information shared did not reflect the clinic’s views or appropriate office discussion.
The response from the clinic also noted that the hygienist was filling in until a permanent staff member returned. The clinic’s apology emphasized regret for the discomfort caused during the appointment.
Danvers chose to publicize her experience on social media, criticizing the intrusion of political beliefs and conspiracy theories into a professional setting.
