James Nevans, drummer for The Davey Pattison Band, is facing a unique challenge as he prepares for their upcoming performance in Paisley. The 50-year-old musician has been grappling with a recurring issue: his front tooth keeps falling out during gigs.
The veteran rocker, hailing from Wishaw, Lanarkshire, attributes the dental mishap to the vigorous vibrations from his drumming. Despite attempts to remedy the situation himself with dental cement, the tooth continues to dislodge, leaving James performing with an unintended gap in his smile.
“It’s quite embarrassing,” James admitted. “Having to deal with a loose tooth mid-song and spitting it out is not ideal. During rehearsals, I simply remove it until we’re done.”
His bandmates, however, are urging him to seek professional dental care before their next show. Lead vocalist Davey Pattison humorously remarked on the situation, saying, “You expect teething problems in a new band, but James takes it to another level. Credit to him though, he never misses a beat even when his tooth decides to make an exit.”
Davey, who recently returned to Scotland after a successful career in America with bands like Gamma and Robin Trower, expressed optimism about their upcoming gig. “The band really knows how to rock,” he enthused. “We’ve been shaking up venues across Scotland.”
Despite the dental distraction, Davey remains confident in James’s drumming prowess. “I hope James gets his tooth sorted soon,” he added with a grin, “and that it stays firmly in place for the gig.”
As they gear up for their performance later this month, the band faces the challenge of ensuring their rockstar drummer can keep smiling through his beats without any unexpected dental surprises.
