Renowned Grammy-winning artist Jason Isbell, who gained acclaim for his role in the latest Martin Scorsese film, recently revealed a newfound reason to smile beyond his musical success.
Isbell, the Alabama-native, previously associated with Drive-By Truckers before embarking on a successful solo career, took to X to share the results of recent dental work, showcasing his newly whitened and straightened smile.
In a recent post on X, Isbell humorously connected his dental overhaul to his preparation for the film “Killers of The Flower Moon,” stating, “Finally I can tell you all – the teeth were in preparation for my role in Killers of The Flower Moon. I prepared for 40 years. These are my real teeth.”
For years, Isbell contended with crooked teeth. Responding to a commenter expressing appreciation for his former dental appearance, Isbell disclosed the compelling reasons behind the dental transformation.
“I had bone loss, severe infection, and neuralgia, and without the repairs, I wasn’t gonna be singing much longer,” Isbell explained. “Like I don’t know if I mentioned this in any songs or interviews or whatnot, but I’m a recovering alcoholic from Alabama. It should really make sense to everyone.”
Isbell emphasized that the dental work not only addressed health issues but also notably enhanced his singing abilities.
“The work immediately improved my singing. Also now I can smell things, which is both good and bad,” he added.
Trigeminal neuralgia, a nerve disorder affecting facial functions like biting and chewing, was revealed as a significant factor prompting the dental procedures.
