Standard dental implants are different from minimally invasive dental implants in that they require more attention after surgery than minimally invasive dental implants.
1. After dental implant surgery, patients generally have only slight pain or discomfort, and do not need to take painkillers. However, if the patient is sensitive or feels local pain, painkillers can be added on the day after surgery, if under normal circumstances, 24 hours after surgery, the patient will no longer have persistent pain.
2. Do not brush your teeth and rinse your mouth with water within 24 hours after the completion of dental implant, because excessive frequency of mouthwash can lead to gargling and bleeding. However, rinse your mouth with mouthwash after meals to prevent food residue in your mouth.
3. Stitches can be removed 7 to 10 days after dental implantation, and timely stitches can prevent local infection.
4. Due to the different constitution of the patients and the operation process, there may be different degrees of surgical reaction. Some patients have mild reaction or no discomfort reaction, and some will have local edema and ecchymosis, which generally lasts about 3-5 days.
5. Routine use of antibiotics after surgery.
For simple implant surgery (small number of implants, short operation time, and good recovery), oral antibiotics are given postoperatively. For complex implant surgery, intravenous antibiotics are required to prevent infection.
