First, the operation procedures and methods of fixed orthodontics:
1. The fixed appliance aligns the teeth so that the contact points between the teeth are in a normal relationship.
2. Determine the tooth position and number of teeth to be deglazed according to the degree of crowding of the dentition or the degree of irregularity in the amount of teeth.
3. You can use coarsely divided copper wire or open a large coil spring to separate the contact points of the teeth, which is convenient for the deglazing operation.
4. Generally, the enamel of 0.2-0.3mm on the adjacent surface is removed by using a curved head and a fine emery drill, and then the adjacent side is deglazed, and the shape is trimmed, polished and coated with fluorine.
5. Move the coil spring on the arch wire, moving the mesial tooth towards the gap obtained by deglazing. At the follow-up visit, the mesial contact points of the mesial teeth were separated and the deglazing procedure was repeated.
6. With the progress of deglazing, the teeth are gradually moved backward and ligated together with the anchoring teeth. There is no need to remove the arch wire during the whole process, and the anterior teeth can be displaced when enough space is obtained.
Second, Operation precautions:
1. During the operation of deglazing of the proximal surface, care should be taken to protect the gingival papilla and the soft tissues of the lips, cheeks, and tongue.
2. The order of deglazing is generally completed from back to front.
3. Do not form steps or large plane contacts.
4. It is best not to remove the enamel on the adjacent surfaces of the teeth that are not aligned.
5. For those with irregular tooth volume in the upper and lower dental arches, it is best to perform the operation after determining the abnormal tooth volume through experimental tooth arrangement. The scope of enamel removal can be concentrated in the abnormal area as much as possible.
